Based on research funded by two national Canadian doctoral fellowships, Marty has published
two textbooks
that are today widely used in interpreter preparation programs across North America. As described by one interpreter educator,
“We keep using the Taylor texts because students keep telling us how helpful it is to discuss the elements of an interpretation in smaller parts. Instead of being overwhelmed by the complexity of looking at successes and errors, individual features can be addressed and targeted for improvement. It helps all of us talk about the work.”

In collaboration with Angela Petrone Stratiy, Marty has also produced a
DVD on classifiers, and is currently in the process of developing more audiovisual materials to be used in conjunction
with her books.
